Punchface
If Incubus, Tool and The Red Hot Chili Peppers had a musical orgy, blacked out, and woke up the next morning, standing there would be Punchface, the high-energy alternative rock band from the Bay Area. Punchface is also becoming a regular part of the Sacto’s music scene. Although inspired by the hard rock bands they grew up with, Punchface, incorporates its own funky pop stylings, to create a fresh fusion of high-energy, melodic rockin’ tunes that give you a sonic punch. Lead singer Justin Alexander’s background as a wilderness survivalist, martial arts fighter, youth mentor and his travels in rural thailand as a monk bring add to the wild energy delivered live and on their debut album "A Different Kind Of Fame."
The Ancient Sons
The Ancient Sons are a Sacto band with six members from various local bands past and present. Twin bothers Chris & Brad Teichman were in a local band called Army Of Trees and Matt K. Shrugg is from The Shruggs/Th Losin Streaks & The Pizzas. David K. Aslanian and Justin Pine are from the band Rock The Light and they have Matt Maxwell now in the mix. Known for their awesome live show and wall of harmonies, they can sound like The Everly Brothers one minute and The Beatles meets The Who the next. After being nominated for a Best Pop Band Sammie this year, they will unleash their debut album "The Dark Gospel" on June 6th at Old Ironsides.

Bold Theater
KOLT Run Creations

At least I knew where it was this time; the lights wouldn’t have helped, as it was still daytime as I rolled up around 7:45 pm (you gotta love this time of year). Yet, instead of the acrobatic antics of the Sacramento Theatre Experiment, tonight I was to witness a horse of an altogether different color. Read more
